“Sing to me until I fall asleep”, she says, wantingly, over the phone. It’s already two in the morning and she’s finally off to her bed.
“I can’t sing”, he replies, worrying he might disappoint her. He’s already lying on his bed while talking with her.
“Please.”
“Let’s just sleep.”
“Uh, okay. Good night”, she says disappointedly.
“I don’t memorize the lyrics.”
A smile suddenly forms on her face. He starts singing with unclear lyrics. And then he says,
“Wait a second.”
“Why?”
“Just wait.”
“Okay.”
She smiles like a retard when she hears him singing with clear lyrics now. She knows he did something just to come up with better singing. She’s right. He stood up from the comfort he was feeling while lying on his soft, cozy bed just to turn on his laptop and search for the song’s lyrics he was singing to her.
“Hun?”, he says after singing the chorus part of the song.
Nobody answers.
“I guess you’re already asleep. I’m sorry if I was hesitant to sing you a song. I know it’s just simple but I refused first. I love you, Hun. I always will. Thanks for making me happy.”
And he drops the call.
